Pineapple Sweet and Sour Chicken


  • 1½ cups of chicken
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cornstarch
  • oil for frying
  • 20 oz can of pineapple
  • ¾ cup of vinegar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ?? ketchup
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 3 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1½ tsp soy sauce


  1. Cut up chicken and toss in egg to coat
  2. Add corn starch to chicken and toss
  3. Add oil to frying pan and borwn chicken
  4. Once cooked remove the chicken from pan
  5. Drain pineapple but keep syrup. Add enough water to make 1 1/2 cups
  6. Add pineapple, vinegar brown sugar ginger and kethchup to frying pan.
  7. Heat to boiling and then let simmer for 2 minutes
  8. Mix water and cornstarch and then add to sauce. Cook until thick and boil for 1 min)
  9. Add pineapple, soy sauce and chicken cook until warm.
  10. Serve with rice
